Mao’s Last Dancer – A portrait of Li Cunxin

The extraordinary life of ballet dancer Li Cunxin is currently on display at the Immigration Museum until 7 October. The exhibition displaying pictures, artefacts and costumes details Li Cunxin’s early life of poverty in rural China to having the opportunity to study at the Houston Ballet School to his defection to the west. Li Cunxin finally settled in Melbourne in 1995 and is now the Director of Queensland Ballet in Brisbane.
