Shop ‘til you drop in Melbourne

Melbourne is well-known as a great spot to shop! So when you’re next staying with us here at Treasury on Collins, why not shop ‘til you drop at some of these great shopping precincts:

Queen Victoria Market – This very large market has everything you could want, from souvenirs to food. This is one of the largest markets of its kind in the world, and you’ll need a few days to really check it out. There’s a sizeable area of fresh fruits, vegetables, and meats – perfect if you booked one of our apartments with a kitchen. QVM is regarded as a must-do while in Melbourne.

Collins Street – has a lot of upmarket boutiques, that are well worth a browse!

Collins Place – is a beautiful building of glass and polished metal that is worth visiting for the architecture along Collins Place is the place to be seen!

Bourke Street Mall – Here you’ll find all the big name stores like Myer and David Jones, as well as up-market clothing boutiques, and trinkets.

Melbourne Central – boasts over 300 stores selling everything from books, to clothes, to opals. There’s also services; such as hairdressers and beauticians. Located on Lonsdale Street in the Central Business District.

Swanston Street – located just north of the Flinders Street Station. Head to Swanston Street for bargains, including souvenirs that are a bit cheaper than in other places. Head down into the basement shops, where you’ll find a few clothing spots with great deals.

Southgate – is known mainly for it’s nice restaurants and food court. But they also have some unique boutiques. Each Sunday they also have a market on the sidewalk. Located on the South bank of the Yarra River.

Docklands – under the observation wheel of Melbourne you’ll find great deals in laneways filled with factory style outlets.
Located at the western end of the CBD.

Chapel Street – slightly further a far, but well worth a visit. Find miles of stores, with an eclectic mix from second-hand shops to exclusive Australian designers.
