29 March 2021

It’s time to visit Melbourne CBD again and there is never been a better time than now. Here’s why

#1 Further restrictions have eased
As of the 26th March, further restrictions have eased in metro Melbourne. Masks are now only mandatory on public transport, share rides, hospitals, airports and when flying. Restaurants and cafes can now hold 75% of their capacity, which means wining and dining is well and truly back on! There’s coffee brewing, wine glasses clinking and people socialising face to face over a meal. But let’s be vigilant and always carry a mask and stay up to date with the latest rules and restrictions HERE

#2 You can finally book Chin Chin and other hard-to-get-in restaurants
We do love a good meal at Chin Chin but the thought of waiting for 2 hours to get a table is just too long. With capacity restrictions still in place for restaurants and cafes, customers have become winners where bookings at these hard-to-get-in diners are now mandatory or highly recommended by the establishments themselves (cheers to that!).
We do however encourage patrons to show up for the booking or cancel in advance as the hospitality industry in Melbourne has been greatly affected and they need your ongoing support.

#3 Socially Distanced
The CBD has seen a slow return of workers back to their office as they still remain in their loungewear WFH. For those who prefer a slower pace in the city, this is the right time to visit Melbourne. This means more room on trams and trains, no queues at women toilets (let’s hope!) and time to appreciate and enjoy travelling again.

#4 Let us entertain you
Can you hear that, it’s laughter in the city! The Melbourne comedy festival is back and boy do we all need a laugh after 2020. Tickets can be purchased online at www.comedyfestival.com.au. Enjoy some live music at the bowl liveatthebowl.com.au and hurry as the NGV’s Triennial exhibition is closing 18 April. Melbourne has snagged some great events come this winter. From June, the works of French Impressionist arrives at the NGV, Moulin Rouge the musical hits the stage and the Van Gogh multi-sensory exhibition lets you view art in a more visual way.

#5 Autumn in the city
Autumn in Melbourne has to be the prettiest and why not just enjoy the freedom to stroll around the city and through the parks to see the changing leaves. Stop for a coffee al fresco, stock up on winter woolies at the mid season sale and eat chocolate!

Happy Easter and we look forward to welcoming you to Melbourne and Treasury on Collins.
