Melbourne Museum

Melbourne Museum explores life in Victoria, including the natural environment, culture and history.

Features of the museum include a complete skeleton of a blue whale, the Bunjilaka Aboriginal Cultural Center, and Australia’s greatest ever racehorse Phar Lap. Take in the many permanent exhibitions such as ‘Dynamic Earth’, ‘Sam the Koala’, ‘Dinosaur Walk’ and ‘The Melbourne Story.’

There’s a special children’s gallery aimed at those under 8 years of age, with exhibitions such as ‘1,2,3 Grow’ where children can explore how plants, animals, minerals and humans grow.

Melbourne Museum operates daily from 10am until 5pm. Closed Good Friday and Christmas Day.
